The Church of St. Francis Xavier
The original church was founded in 1851 by Jesuits from the village of Fordham. Its original sanctuary, designed by William Rodrigue, was the scene of a panic on March 8, 1877 when someone shouted "Fire!" during a Mass and the church suffered terrible damage and was subsequently was torn down in 1878.. Undeterred, the parishioners laid the cornerstone of the new church in May, 1878 on land immediately to the west of the old church. The current church has been in use since 1882.

What can’t you do in New York? Take in a show, visit a museum, go shopping (but make sure to save some $$$ for the bride and groom), ice skate at Rockefeller Center. One of Marisa and Erich’s favorite activities to do in the city is going to a jazz club like Mezzrow.
